GATE Adventist Theological College is a theological institution under the Southern Asia Division of Seventh-day Adventists, dedicated to serving the spiritual needs of Northern India, Northeast India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Situated within the 10/40 Window, where millions remain unreached by the gospel, the college's mission is to train and equip Bible workers, evangelists, and pastors to bring the message of salvation to these regions.
Daryl Abilash Joshua was born in Bangalore to Pastor and Mrs. Calvin Joshua. As a baby, he and his twin brother were dedicated to God’s service at the Central English Church, Cunningham Road. He received his early education at Spencer Elementary School, after which his family moved to Shillong in Northeast India, where they served as missionaries for ten years. Having studied in Adventist boarding schools such as James Memorial, E.D. Thomas, and Lowry Memorial, Daryl was blessed with a strong Adventist education throughout his childhood. After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Spicer Memorial College, he committed his life fully to Jesus Christ and decided to prepare for ministry. He earned his Master of Religion degree from Andrews University and later obtained an additional Master’s degree in Social Science. He has also completed his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Daryl began his pastoral ministry in 2003 as a Pastor–Evangelist in Odisha, where he served for three years. He was then called to Roorkee Adventist College, serving as Pastor, Teacher, and Dean of the College. He later ministered at Salisbury Memorial Park Church, followed by service as Pastor of the Katraj Adventist Church, Pune. In 2012, he was appointed Pastor of the Central Church in Hyderabad. During his tenure there, he was invited by the General Conference to receive training for a unique initiative called One Year in Mission, assisting the New York–13 “Mission to the Cities” project. Over the next three and a half years, he served as a coordinator for this initiative at the Southern Asia Division. Pastor Daryl has a deep passion for working with young people and youth, helping them to learn, grow, and serve by Guiding, Assisting, Treating, and Educating those in need. With this passion for youth development and service, he currently serves as the President of GATE Adventist Theological College.
Mr. Kristen George has completed his Master’s degree from Spicer Adventist University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D at Sahmyook University, South Korea. He oversees the Academic Affairs and serves as the Faculty Member at GATE Adventist Theological College.
Dr. Joseph Jannu holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Sahmyook University, South Korea. He previously served as a Trainer with the 1000 Missionary Movement India, contributing to the training and development of young people for mission and ministry. He currently serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), Dean of Men, and Faculty Member at GATE Adventist Theological College. In these roles, he contributes to the academic, spiritual, and personal development of students while providing leadership and pastoral care for the student body.
Mr. Vanlalchhunga Chhakchhuak holds a Master of Arts in History from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA. He currently serves as the Registrar and Faculty Member of GATE Adventist Theological College, contributing to the institution’s academic, administrative, and educational ministries. With his academic background in history and religious studies, Mr. Chhakchhuak brings a broad interdisciplinary perspective to his teaching and administrative responsibilities. His service at GATE Adventist Theological College reflects his commitment to supporting the academic development and mission of the institution.
Mr. Roland Rodrigues holds a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Spicer Adventist University, Pune. He currently serves as a Faculty Member at GATE Adventist Theological College and as the Director of GATE Media. In his academic and administrative roles, Mr. Rodrigues contributes to the theological education and media ministry of the institution, supporting the academic development of students while overseeing media-related initiatives and communications at GATE Adventist Theological College.
Dr. Thang Suan Sum holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Andrews University and a Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from the Philippines. He brings extensive experience in theological education and has served in the field of theological teaching with particular expertise in New Testament studies and biblical interpretation. He currently serves as a Faculty Member at GATE Adventist Theological College, where he contributes to the institution’s academic ministry through teaching, theological instruction, and the development of students in biblical and theological studies.
Mrs. Diamond Kharkongor, from Meghalaya, India, serves as an English Teacher and Personal Secretary to the President of GATE Adventist Theological College. She holds a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Spicer Adventist University, Pune. In her dual roles, Mrs. Kharkongor contributes to the academic and administrative life of the institution, supporting the development of students through English education while assisting the Office of the President in its administrative responsibilities.
Megha Malvika Rangare Megha Malvika Rangare, from Chhattisgarh, India, holds a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) from Flaiz Adventist College, Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh. She also served for one year with the 1000 Missionary Movement India (1000MMI), contributing to its mission and ministry initiatives. Following her missionary service, she moved to Mizoram, where she served as a teacher. She later completed a course in Library Science in Tamil Nadu, further preparing herself for professional library service. She currently serves as the College Librarian at GATE Adventist Theological College, supporting the academic community by providing students and faculty with access to theological, educational, and research resources.
Mr. Cleaning Lyngdoh, from Meghalaya, India, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Spicer Adventist University, Pune. He currently serves as the Director of the GATE Master Guide Program, where he leads and trains students in completing the requirements of the program and developing the skills and competencies necessary for effective youth leadership. He also serves as the Coordinator of Sports Ministries at GATE Adventist Theological College, supporting and coordinating sports-related activities as part of the institution’s student development and campus ministry.
Ms. Namdoureiliu Kamei, from Manipur, India, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Spicer Adventist University, Pune, and a Master of Arts in English from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. Her academic background in theology and English provides an interdisciplinary foundation for contributing to theological education. She currently serves as the Dean of Women at GATE Adventist Theological College, where she contributes to the academic and educational ministry of the institution while providing leadership, guidance, and support to the women students.
